Cultivating artistic work

Starting with the Biosphere Festival 2024, the art and cultural site Historisches Rathaus Kleinblittersdorf is opening its doors to a new way of thinking in our model region.

From abstract model to concrete project, the exhibition shows works of conceptual art and "idea laboratories" that have come to life in an alliance or in a dialog with the "Mobile UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau" - with the aim of imitation. The focus here is on an exchange between this symbol + finding instrument for sustainable ways of life, its guiding principles, impulses and its vision of giving appreciative space to the cultural task of our model region in the form of artistic creation of "Man in harmony with nature".

The exhibition "From the abstract to the concrete" reveals to the viewer the alliance principle of the "Mobile UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau". In a playful and poetic way, the experiment creates thought modules for 10 fields of action and an awareness of sustainability, which is initially reflected in everyday life in the exhibition in the projects "BliesgauHocker - Ambassador of a region" and "Landscape-bound building using the example of the denk.mal 19 project". Involving the viewer is a key element of the conceptual art approach. "Ideas move forward through people, while they solidify in works of art and ultimately remain behind", as Joseph Beuys put it.

As part of the exhibition and beyond, interested parties are invited to find out more about the topics from ten fields of action specific to the region and to develop their own laboratory of ideas with the "Bliesgau Mobile UNESCO Biosphere Reserve" in its function as a symbol and model for sustainable ways of life. Whether you are a municipality, company, educational institution, association, cultural institution or private individual - the The spirit of a model region needs to be cultivated so that the model can be experienced, felt and brought to life for everyone.

A thought, a felt "BauWerk Kunst in Gesellschaft für Nachhaltigkeit" - a living "sculpture of harmony" is in development.

The exhibition opening begins with this year's Biosphere Festival on 30 June 2024 and the works of conceptual art: "Mobile UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau" by the cultural officer of the Saarbrücken Regional Association and artist Peter Michael Lupp, in dialogue with the projects "BliesgauHocker - Ambassador of a Region" by the art shepherd Rudolf Schwarz and the project "Landscape-bound building using the example of the renovation, modernization and conversion of denk.mal 19", a listed town house in St. Ingbert dating from 1890 by artist and regional developer Dorothée Pirrung.

The exhibition will show further projects until the end of March 2025. Dates for the individual exhibitions will be announced in good time via the media and can be found at www.kleinblittersdorf.de and www.biosphaere-bliesgau.eu.
