Meditative pilgrimage hikes in the UNESCO Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve: from the Wintringer farm to Auersmacher and back
The meditative pilgrimage hikes on a section of the European Way of St. James pilgrims in the Bliesgau biosphere reserve are integrated into the special atmosphere of the seasons and see themselves as explorations of sustainability. The mission of a UNESCO biosphere reserve and questions about the sources of inner strength and the good life become thematic companions along the way in a poetic way. After an introduction, the route follows the Starry Path/Chemin des étoiles, past the "field of stars" and a sunken garden to the stage destination, the Altes Bauernhaus pilgrims' hostel in Auersmacher. There you can enjoy coffee and homemade cake. After a pause in the village church, the approx. 15 km long, moderately difficult hike with inclines leads back to the medieval Wintringer Chapel.
Note: The pilgrimage hikes also include ascents and unpaved paths. They are only suitable for experienced participants in good physical condition. Bring your own rucksack provisions and make sure you wear good shoes and rainwear if necessary.

Meditative pilgrimage hike in the Bliesgau biosphere reserve to the Wörschweiler monastery ruins
Summer hike
As part of the European model project "Starry Path /Chemin des étoiles", the monastery ruins of the former Cistercian abbey of Wörschweiler were also recorded as an important point of reference. The site is reminiscent of the special spirit of St. Bernard of Clairvaux. The knowledge of this "genius loci" is more relevant today than ever and makes the monastery ruins a place where times come together and people are inspired for a new awareness to preserve our unique habitat. The meditative summer hike traces this special spirit in the present and leads over approx. 12 km (medium difficulty with inclines) from the starting point of the Roman Museum in Schwarzenacker to the Wörschweiler monastery ruins and on to Gutenbrunn Castle and back.
Note: The event is only aimed at experienced participants in very good physical condition. Bring your own rucksack provisions and make sure you wear good shoes and rainwear if necessary.
Meeting point: parking lot Roman Museum Schwarzenacker, duration approx. 7 hours.
Registration required by 16.07.2026.
