Image lecture/Discussion: Building with the essences of culture and landscape.
Once upon a time, the rural house landscapes in the greater region were a sure indication of which area you were in. Those times are over. The old Saarland villagescapes with their typical features are fading. Stamped as eyesores, the few authentically preserved testimonies of a building culture that could so exemplarily tell of survival through moderate management of the land and a landscape-bound construction method are leaving the stage - without a trace. Hardly anyone recognizes their inner and outer value as the key to a sustainable, regional building culture of the present.
The very essence of regional building culture in rural areas and its roots will be the subject of a pictorial lecture.
