Beethoven Pastoral Project

The Regional Association Saarbrücken initiates the Music/Film project "Unter Bäumen/Under Trees" for International Environment Day 2020

World Environment Day, or Environment Day, is an annual day of action celebrated worldwide on June 5. This year, an extraordinary art project is taking place as part of the Beethoven Year. Beethoven was a great friend of nature and so his 6th symphony can also be understood as an ode to nature and thus to the biosphere earth.

Under the title "Beethoven Pastoral Project," 250 artists will digitally interpret this symphony in its anniversary year as part of World Environment Day. The language of art will be used to send a signal for climate protection. The patron is the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres. This also includes the contribution from the Regional Association of Saarbrücken and the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve.

The music/film project "Unter Bäumen/Under Trees" can be seen starting on World Environment Day on June 5, 2020 at www.regionalverband-saarbruecken.de/pastoral-project/.
