Advent ritual "A light for the world"

The path to an ecologically sustainable future can only succeed if people become more aware of the fullness of creation and develop a physical, mental and spiritual connection with the earth. All guests are invited to light a candle in this spirit.

The silent breath of the future

Ulrich Grober

Book launch/Author reading/Local talk

Der leise Atem der Zukunft

At the cultural site Wintringer Chapel, sustainability has already been addressed for several years - supported by topic-specific artistic reflections. The art projects are accompanied by local discussions. Peter Michael Lupp from the Regional Association Saarbrücken traces - in dialogue with the artists, experts and the audience - the urgent questions of how to sustainably shape lifestyles, but also living spaces [biospheres].

On Sunday, October 9, the journalist (including for the ZEIT), book author and sustainability expert Ulrich Grober will be a guest on site. He will present his latest book "Der leise Atem der Zukunft - Vom Aufstieg nachhaltiger Werte in Zeiten der Krise";, read passages from it and discuss with the audience.

We want to use the aura of the medieval space to reflect on ancient and at the same time very contemporary values: Serenity, empathy, self-restraint.

Afterwards there is the possibility to stop at the country inn of the Wintringer farm.

The cultural site Wintringer Chapel stands within the Regional Association Saarbrücken as a model for the quiet valorization of significant places of art and culture: A significant place of the past, which wants to bring about cultural education for sustainable development in the present with the language of art.

Against the background of the architectural history of the medieval priory, the development of a cultural place of the present is explained. The on-site inspection spans the arc from the renovation to the programmatic approach of the annual art exhibitions. This includes an introduction to the current installation "The Limits to Growth" by the Munich sculptor Hermann Bigelmayr, as well as the references of this extraordinary cultural project to the background and fields of action of the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve. In addition, the installation "Il fait froid" by the artist Leslie Huppert, which deals with the topic of flight and integration, can be viewed on site.

Afterwards there is the possibility to stop at the new country inn of the Wintringer farm.

Pilgrimage hiking in the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve

On the "Way of the Stars/Chemin des étoiles" from Wintringer farm to Auersmacher and back.

The meditative pilgrimage walks on a section of the European paths of the pilgrims of St. James in the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve begin at the cultural site Wintringer Chapel on the Wintringer farm. On site, people have already been dealing with sustainability for several years - supported by topic-specific artistic reflections: What do we really need? After an introduction, we will set out on the "Way of the Stars/Chemin des étoiles". The stage destination is the village church and the pilgrim hostel "Altes Bauernhaus" in Auersmacher. There, coffee and homemade cake will be served, and after a pause in the village church, the hike, which is about 10 kilometers long and of medium difficulty, will lead back to the Wintringer farm. After a final meditation in the chapel, there is the possibility to stop in the country inn of the Wintringer farm. The pilgrimages are under the sign of the bees and take place at the end of the bee year

Il fait froid [moving identity 3]

Leslie Huppert

Il fait froid

The cultural site Wintringer Chapel is since 2011 under the sign of the guiding theme "The Limits to Growth" (see per annum MMXI ff.). The artist Leslie Huppert (winner of the Cultural Prize for Art of the Regional Association Saarbrücken 2014) has referred to this for a current occasion. In 2015, the artist has dealt artistically with people who are on the run.

Introduction: Peter Michael Lupp
Artist talk with Leslie Huppert and discussion
Musical reflections: Hartmut Osswald

This new artistic impulse at the cultural site Wintringer Chapel is the starting point for a cooperation with the KuBa cultural center at the Eurobahnhof in Saarbrücken. In 2016, a continuing exhibition and a topic-related public discourse will take place there.
